Micro-Needling

Micro-needling is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production to improve texture, tone, and overall skin quality. At our Medspa, we offer customized medical micro-needling treatments performed by a licensed nurse. Each session is tailored to your skin’s needs using professional grade techniques for safe, effective results. However, individual results can vary, and a consultation with a healthcare provider is essential to determine if this therapy is right for you.

about micro-needling

Micro-needling is a clinically proven, minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve skin texture, tone, and overall vitality by stimulating your body’s natural healing response. Often referred to as collagen induction therapy, microneedling works by creating controlled micro-channels in the skin using a precision medical device. These micro-injuries trigger the production of new collagen and elastin—the essential building blocks for firm, smooth, youthful-looking skin.

Over time, collagen production naturally declines, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, acne scarring, uneven texture, and loss of radiance. Microneedling helps reverse these visible signs of aging by encouraging the skin to repair itself from within, resulting in a healthier, more resilient complexion.

What Microneedling Treats

Microneedling is highly versatile and safe for most skin types and tones. It can effectively improve:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Acne scars and post-inflammatory pigmentation

  • Enlarged pores

  • Uneven skin tone and texture

  • Sun damage and dull skin

  • Mild skin laxity

  • Stretch marks (on face or body)

How the Treatment Works

During your treatment, a sterile, medical-grade microneedling device is gently passed across the skin. The device creates thousands of microscopic channels at a customized depth tailored to your skin’s needs and goals. These micro-channels stimulate collagen and elastin production while also enhancing the absorption of targeted serums, growth factors, or skin-boosting ingredients applied during the session.

The procedure is well tolerated. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort, and most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or vibration.

Results You Can Expect

After treatment, your skin may appear slightly pink or flushed—similar to a mild sunburn—for 24–72 hours. This is a normal part of the healing process. As the skin repairs itself over the following weeks, clients typically notice:

  • Smoother skin texture

  • Improved clarity and brightness

  • Reduction in fine lines and pore size

  • Firmer, more youthful-looking skin

While some results can be seen after a single session, a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is recommended for optimal collagen remodeling and long-term improvement.

Why Medical Microneedling

Medical microneedling goes beyond cosmetic treatments by reaching deeper layers of the skin where true collagen production occurs. When performed by a trained medical professional, treatments are fully customized for depth, technique, and skin concerns—ensuring safe, effective, and natural-looking results.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Microneedling is suitable for both women and men seeking natural skin rejuvenation without surgery or extended downtime. It’s ideal for clients who want gradual, long-lasting improvements and healthier skin over time.

  • Most clients tolerate microneedling very well. A medical-grade numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to ensure comfort. You may feel light pressure or a mild vibration during the session, but discomfort is minimal and temporary.

  • While some improvement can be seen after one session, a series of 3–6 treatments, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart, is typically recommended for optimal collagen production and long-term results. Your treatment plan will be customized based on your skin goals.

  • Downtime is minimal. Most clients experience redness similar to a mild sunburn for 24–72 hours, along with slight dryness or tightness. Makeup can usually be applied after 24 hours, and normal activities can be resumed shortly after treatment.

  • You may notice a healthy glow within the first week, but true results develop gradually as collagen and elastin rebuild. Skin texture, tone, and firmness continue to improve over 4–6 weeks following each session.

  • Microneedling is safe for most people, but it may not be appropriate if you:

    • Are pregnant or breastfeeding (depending on treatment depth and products used)

    • Have an active skin infection, open wound, or cold sore in the treatment area

    • Have moderate to severe acne, eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea flares

    • Are prone to keloid scarring or have a history of poor wound healing

    • Are currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy

    • Have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6–12 months

    • Have a bleeding disorder or are on certain blood-thinning medications

A thorough consultation is always performed prior to treatment to ensure microneedling is safe and appropriate for your skin. If microneedling isn’t the right option, alternative treatments may be recommended to help you achieve your skin goals safely.
